Participation in the UC Washington Program offers the unique opportunity to live and learn in the heart of our nation's capital. A key component of this immersive experience is living alongside your cohort at the UC Washington Center.
This page outlines the mandatory housing contract that all participants are required to sign. Understanding this agreement is an important step for both prospective applicants and accepted students, as it secures a participant's place in the program and details the associated financial responsibilities.
The Housing Contract Requirement
To officially join the program, all accepted students are required to sign a housing contract. This legally binding agreement serves two primary purposes:
- Guarantees Your Place: Signing the contract is the final step to officially accept your spot in the program and guarantees your housing at the UC Washington Center.
- Confirms Financial Responsibility: The contract outlines your agreement to pay all associated housing costs for the duration of your program term.
Housing Costs and Payments
By signing the housing contract, you agree to pay for your housing at the UC Washington Center.
- Payment Process: Housing costs are billed and paid through UC Davis Student Housing, using the same system as on-campus housing.
- Program Costs: For a detailed breakdown of current housing fees and other program expenses, please visit the Program Cost page.
Contract Terms and Release Policy
Participants are expected to adhere to the terms and conditions outlined in their housing contract for the entire program.
- Breaking a Contract: We understand that special, unforeseen circumstances can arise. If you must request to be released from your housing contract, you need to follow a formal process.
- Release Policy: The specific terms, conditions, and procedures for requesting a contract release can be found on the Release from Housing Contract page.
