Financial Aid

Financial Aid for the Washington Program

Financial aid can be applied to the UC Davis Washington Program, and your award may be adjusted to cover additional costs such as airfare and housing. Even if you do not typically qualify for financial aid on campus, you might qualify for the program based on your financial situation and the program's increased cost of attendance.

Application and Award Process

1. Complete the FAFSA or CADAA

All participants are encouraged to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or the California Dream Act Application (CADAA). To ensure you are considered for all aid for which you may be eligible, you should file by the state's priority deadline in early March for the academic year you plan to attend.

2. Automatic Award Recalculation

The UC Davis Financial Aid and Scholarships office adjusts aid awards to meet the increase in the cost of attending the Washington Program. Upon your selection for the program, our office will provide your name to the Financial Aid and Scholarships office, which will then recalculate your awards based on the increased budget. Financial aid will be applied as if you were taking the equivalent units on campus in Davis.

  • Summer Session Note: Students participating in the summer quarter must enroll in the internship course (WAS 192) for credit to be eligible for financial aid.

3. Check MyAwards

After your aid has been recalculated, you can view your updated financial aid offers in your MyAwards portal. This will typically occur within 30 days of your program's departure date. Carefully read all notifications and complete any outstanding requirements listed on MyAwards to avoid delays in the disbursement of your aid.
