Position Title
Peer Advisor & Event Student Manager
Major: Neurobiology, Physiology, and Behavior
Minors: Public Health as well as Asian American studies
UCDC Internship: Americans for Informed Democracy & Georgetown AI/ML Drug Discovery Lab
Bio: I’m a rising fourth year from Dallas, TX. As my time here at Davis comes to an end, I feel it is significant to convey how my mindset has changed over the course of my undergraduate years. Through unique opportunities like being a co-instructor under the Asian American Studies department and interning at public health hospitals in Cape Town, I have been able to grow in the direction of understanding how advocacy and medicine are incredibly important to me in the context of law. I understand that there are lots of students out there, like myself, who are trying to bridge the gap between their interests via diverse college experiences. I look forward to working with the Washington program to help students with non-traditional paths find opportunities that are able to accommodate their individual experiences.
Why I love my role: I love my role because I am able to connect with so many students in the process and better understand the endless possibilities for post-graduate plans. It is incredibly important to foster human connection and expand my professionalism skills as well through the experiences you gain throughout life. I truly enjoy helping others find their passions, so I feel incredibly fortunate and excited to be a Peer Advisor.
Why I love the Washington Program: My time in Washington D.C. allowed me to recenter my focus on the future and what path I wish to take after graduation. It was also wonderful to see what the city has to offer through diverse cultures and food, free events, alongside archives and museums.
