Tell us about your internship - what kind of work did you do? What did you find rewarding?
A lot of searching for research data, input of research data, going to think tank events, meeting lots of industry professionals, and conducting interviews with said professionals!
Have your career or life goals changed as a result of your internship?
Yes, the internship allowed me to go out and meet so many people who work in the international affairs and public service space, which helped me curate a better idea of the industry and while I was on the fence about joining this sphere after graduating, I think I will choose to pursue my career in international relations!

Tell us about a meaningful memory from your time in Washington DC
I went to the embassy of Singapore for a reception celebrating our 59th national day. As a homesick international student, the taste and sounds of home with other Singaporeans was incredibly heartwarming.
Did your internship lead to any opportunities?
Yes, I have befriended some of the professors from the internship program who have offered me opportunities to work with them on their research!
How has living in the nation's capital for a quarter changed you?
It really let me see how the U.S. government works and how citizens react to the changes- especially with this year being and election year. Living here has given me a front row seat to observe the social and political landscape of the U.S.
