HOUSING CONTRACT
- BEFORE YOU BEGIN: Do not begin the housing contract process without first receiving a program acceptance email.
- Deadline: Deadline varies depending on Acceptance date. See acceptance email for specific date and time.
- Information: To officially secure your participation and housing, you must complete the housing contract. The process includes several steps, so allocate enough time to complete it accurately. There is no payment required at the time you sign the contract.

MANDATORY WELCOME EVENT
- Date and Time: TBA
- Location: TBA.
- Information: Join us for an introduction to the Washington Program. You will meet staff members and mingle with your cohort while learning about program resources and next steps. This is a casual event.
SCHEDULE YOUR MANDATORY ADVISING SESSION
- Sign ups for advising will happen just before and just after the Welcome Event
- Note: you must complete the Individual Development Plan and SMART Goals Worksheet in the Participant Tracking System (PTS) prior to attending your session.
WORKSHOP REGISTRATION
Click to Register to attend at least one session of each of the following workshops. You may choose to attend sessions as early as you would like. Many students wait to attend until closer to their departure date, but you may select any of the available sessions prior to your departure as you like. Attending a single session multiple times is not necessary:
RESUME AND COVER LETTER FIRST DRAFTS DUE
- Deadline: Documents are due 2 weeks after completion of the respective resume and cover letter workshops.
- Instructions:
- Your first draft must be uploaded to PTS.
- Resumes should follow the format from workshop materials as closely as possible.
- Submit your documents as two separate, editable Word Document email attachments (the system will not accept other document formats).
- Revisions: Your revised resumes and cover letters will be due within 3-4 business days from the date you receive reviewed documents from staff. You may visit the office during drop-in hours to go over your resume in person with your assigned peer advisor.
FIRST 10 APPS
- Deadline: March 15, 2027.
- Instructions: Fill in at least 10 individual internships on the "Internship Search Log" in your UC Davis Washington Program PTS Portal. Students may meet this requirement by including a combination of internships they have already applied to and those that they plan to apply to. Students should fill this log in as they go.
STUDENT HOUSING INFORMATION FORM
- Deadline: TBA
- Instructions: This form will be available on your "To-Do List" in your my.ucdc.edu account and must be completed by the deadline. Late submissions will not be accepted.
UCDC SEMINAR REGISTRATION
- Enrollment Begins: February 12, 2027.
- Instructions: Everyone must enroll in a Core Seminar and may enroll in an optional elective. Instructions for enrollment will be provided to you both by email and within your "To-Do List" in your my.ucdc.edu account.
UCDC CENTER CHECK-IN
- Date and Time: Move-in will occur on Friday, March 26 and Saturday, March 27, 2027.
- Instructions: Please ensure your flight and transportation arrangements allow you to arrive on either of the above dates. If this is not possible, please check with program staff prior to purchasing your flight.
MANDATORY RESIDENTIAL ACADEMIC ORIENTATION
- Date: March 28, 2027.
- Information: UCDC Program staff will hold a mandatory orientation for all students.
FIRST HOUSING PAYMENT
- Deadline: Monday, March 15, 2027.
- Instructions: You may either pay your housing costs on MyBill or in-person at the Cashier's Office. See the following link for additional payment information including deadlines and payment amounts: Housing Payment Schedule.

FIRST DAY OF INTERNSHIP
- Date: Monday, March 29, 2027.
SECOND HOUSING PAYMENT
- Deadline: Thursday, April 15, 2027.

FINAL HOUSING PAYMENT DEADLINE
- Deadline: Saturday, May 15, 2027.

LAST DAY OF INTERNSHIP
- Date: Friday, June 4, 2027.
RETURN FROM DC
- Checkout Date and Time: You must check out and leave the UC Washington Center by 1:00 PM on Saturday, June 5, 2027.
- Instructions: Plan your departure accordingly as you will not have access to the center or its facilities after 1:00 PM sharp. You may be fined for a late departure unless you have pre-approved an extended stay and have signed a revised housing contract.
