Position Title
Peer Advisor and Advising Student Manager
Major: Political Science and History
UCDC Internship: Office of Congresswoman Zoe Lofgren
Bio: My name is Ethan, and I’m a double major in Political Science and History with a minor in public health. On campus, I serve as President of Pi Sigma Alpha, the national political science honor society. I’ve also had the chance to intern at almost every level of government in my city council, the California State Senate, and Congress.
Why I Love My Role: I love my role because it allows me to connect with other students who are passionate about public service and help them find their footing in D.C. I know firsthand how exciting but also overwhelming the transition to Washington can be, so I enjoy being able to share any advice that makes the experience more rewarding.
Why I Love the Washington Program: I love the Washington Program because it gives students a first-row seat to see how policy and politics actually work in practice. I also love the community the program creates, being surrounded by other students who are equally curious and driven.
Fun Facts: Growing up, I lived in Minnesota for 7 years. When I’m there, I like to track the thousand-foot cargo ships that go through Lake Superior.
I love movies, especially science fiction and political dramas. Some of my favorites are Arrival, Coherence, and Bob Roberts.
