Curricular Practical Training (CPT) Requirement for the Washington Program (For international students only)

As a participant in the Washington Program who is an international student under an F or J student visa, you must enroll in WAS 192 to comply with your internship work authorization (CPT) requirements and to receive academic credit. Your grade in WAS 192 must be directly based on your internship experience, meaning the course and the internship must be integrated, not separate or unrelated. Your performance in the internship should form the basis of your course grade. You are welcome to enroll in additional courses alongside WAS 192, if desired, but those courses cannot replace the WAS 192 course.

Application Review Process

  • Applications are reviewed after the application deadline has passed.
  • All submissions are first reviewed for basic eligibility.
  • Eligible applications are then ranked based on:
    • Reported experience

    • Essay question responses
  • To strengthen their application, students should be thorough and detailed in the experience and essay sections.
  • The program does not offer individual application assistance.
  • For extra help, students are encouraged to use campus resources.
