As a UC Davis Washington program participant, the program allowed me to gain hands on work experience while still working on my undergraduate degree. As an advocacy intern at ADHRB, I attended congressional meetings and hearings, published informational blogs, worked on Human Rights Council Statements, gained experience with the United Nations Complaint Program, and attended events at a variety of organizations such as the Brookings Institute, Center for Strategic Studies & Charles Koch Institute, and the American Enterprise Institute. Living in the UC Washington Center was a great opportunity to meet new people and make new friends. During my time in the program, I made friends from UCLA and UC Irvine with whom I was able to take weekend trips to New York and Virginia. As a Student Assistant with the UC Davis Washington Program, I look forward to helping future UCDC students define their career and internship goals and I look forward to hearing about their experiences when they come back to Davis.
