Welcome Employers!

Here is where you can learn more about what our program can do for your organization.

The UC Davis Washington Program, established in 1990, is an innovative learning, teaching and research program that brings the unique and unparalleled resources and educational environment of Washington , DC to the UC Davis community. Our Program provides a wide variety of opportunities to students and faculty members from every corner of our campus. The program's mission is to enhance undergraduate education, support graduate and faculty research, increase UC Davis visibility in the nations' capital, and link Washington , DC Program Alumni with our students and campus.

The UC Davis Washington Program offers a unique opportunity to broaden each student's academic experience through rigorous research in Washington, DC, and practical application of coursework through professional experience in meaningful internships with many of our nation's premiere policy, research, historical, political, cultural, environmental, and scientific institutions.

To see first hand how past students evaluate the Washington experience, click here to watch our streaming videos and request a free hard copy of the program DVD.

Participants in our program undergo a challenging and competitive application and interview process. After being admitted to our program, students work with our staff to secure an internship that fits well with both their academic and career goals.

•  During their quarter in Washington, DC, students live and attend classes at the UC Washington Center (1608 Rhode Island Ave., NW). They earn academic credit towards their degree requirements through an internship with an organization like yours.

•  During the academic year (fall, winter, and spring quarters), UC Davis brings 43 undergraduate students to the Washington Center. Students work in an internship, enroll in a research seminar, and take an upper division elective course conducted by UC Faculty.

•  During our summer program, students can participate in an internship-only option or take a course to complement the internship.

•  Fall, Winter, and Spring students are available to intern 24-32 hours per week. Summer students are available to intern 32-40 hours per week.

Our Program has placed undergraduate student interns with over 500 organizations in the Washington, DC metro area. I hope you will consider hosting a student intern with your organization.
