I am a Student Manager for the Washington Program. I interned at the State Department in the Bureau of East Asia and Pacific Affairs, Office of Regional Security and Policy. My time in D.C. was incredibly rewarding as I was able to apply my Political Science courses taken at UC Davis to a real life, professional setting. The Washington Program has played a pivotal role in my college experience and will surely impact my future career trajectory. As an advisor, I hope to take the knowledge and wisdom I learned from living and interning in D.C. and help any student interested in the Program.
I am a Student Manager for the Washington Program. I interned at Humanities DC, a non-profit grant making organization, as the Program and Marketing Intern. Going to DC was an incredible opportunity for me to grow and experience a full time position, as well as an opportunity to live and learn about myself and my career aspirations in our Nations beautiful capital. I love working at the Washington Program because I truly enjoy helping and watching students prepare for the program and their internships and move to DC for one of best quarters of their college careers.
I am a student advisor for the Washington Program. I interned at the National Archives and Records Administration as a Special Events intern. Living in Washington, D.C. was an incredible experience for me as I learned more about marketing, communication, and event planning to help me develop the skills to succeed in my post-grad career in Marketing/ Strategic Communications. As an advisor, I hope to use my D.C. experience to assist students as they prepare to embark on their UCDC journey to experience living and working in our nation’s capital.
Media Strategist/ Student Advisor
I am a media strategist for the Washington Program, as well as a student advisor. I interned at the Embassy of Canada, in the political section. My experiences in Washington D.C. not only gave me a sense for what life after college will be like, but also exposed me to a myriad of networking opportunities and experiences I would not have otherwise had. My experiences in Washington D.C. have guided the decisions I have subsequently made for the remainder of my college career. As a media strategist and advisor, I hope both to spread the word about this wonderful resource in ways that connect with potential participants, and to help those who choose to enroll towards an amazing quarter spent in The District.
I am the Program Assistant for the Washington Program. A large portion of my role with the Washington Program is to advise students as they discover their passions and assist in helping them find avenues to achieve their goals. I know the transition from being a full-time student to student intern can be difficult at times, and I enjoy the chance I have to make that a smoother transition. The Washington Program offers students the opportunity to have valuable life experiences that they would not be able to gain elsewhere and I am incredibly excited to play a small part in the success of individual students.
